Course Description
Master Practical Applications and Design of Intrusion Alarm Systems teaches students how to select and apply proper detectors, control panels and communication devices in a variety of intrusion system applications. The course provides instruction on basic electronics and how it pertains to system design, component selection and troubleshooting. Included is information on system testing and commissioning, as well as project management. It concludes with a two-hour examination. (NTS 1.4 CEUs)
Certifications available: Individuals holding a Certified Alarm/Security Technician – Level I certification for a minimum of 24 months, and who successfully complete the Advanced Intrusion Systems course and the Fire Alarm Installation Methods course are eligible for certification as a Certified Alarm Technician Level II – formerly known as an Advanced Alarm Technician.
